Behind the Scenes: Contemporary Fairytale
For our very first brand campaign, we’ve been channelling modern fairytale vibes. The concept was inspired by our own tale – one of following your dreams and writing your own story despite any setbacks that may come your way.
Sometimes it's hard to believe that we took the plunge and left our jobs six years ago to start designing watches – we so nearly didn’t. Sometimes it’s hard not to listen to all the negative voices. We were told so many times that life isn't a fashion show and that you can't make a career out of a love of shopping. But we write our own stories, don’t let the naysayers impact yours.

Pretty Paper Art
Our talented design team collaborated with paper artist Zoe Bradley to bring the enchanting set to life. Blooms and bees were carefully hand-sculpted in paper and attached to thin wire stands. Elements were layered one by one onto boards, transforming the little 2D paper creations into a magical 3D sculpture.
Top tip from the shoot: Patience is a virtue – each tiny delicate element was handcrafted and meticulously moved around to create a dreamy set. We have obsessive attention to detail which extends to everything we do, whether it's designing a watch, a piece of jewellery, or our latest newsletter. After all, it’s the little things that make big things happen.
Jane's story – Creative & Product Manager
"Our first brand campaign was one of the most exciting things I’ve worked on at Olivia Burton to date. I’ve been with the brand for four years now. It was my first ‘break’ into the fashion industry after dropping out of university six months into a course and fearing that I’d never be able to follow my dreams of building a career in fashion. Starting as an apprentice (and the first employee at OB), not only have I been able work my way up my dream career ladder, I’ve developed my creative skill set, completely fallen in love with Olivia Burton as a brand, and been part of the most incredible journey."
Top tip from the shoot: Lighting is everything – it’s so important to get it right. It takes hours just to capture one shot perfectly.
What she loved most: Working together on such a hands-on project. We achieved so much on shoot, but the day was also filled with lots of laughs and dancing once we finally wrapped up!
